This investigative workshop into painting the head looks to the Munich style of the 19th century for inspiration. That's right, those great German heads will be our benchmark! Students will learn to mix, apply and fire vitreous pigments. Lectures on the anatomy of the head and exercises in life drawing will round out the curriculum. Traditional glass painting techniques of Tracing & Matting will be covered in depth. Enameling, silver staining and the use of an airbrush will be introduced as time permits. Prior painting experience is preferred but not absolutely necessary.
