I am thrilled that my friend and colleague Kathy Jordan is launching her website at last! She has been working tirelessly in the backwaters for years. I sincerely hope that as more people learn of her work she will get the recognition she deserves.

Kathy has always had an appreciation for the style of the English and German painters of the 19th century, as well as the flesh painters associated with Tiffany & La Farge. She has spent years perfecting her skill at replicating their techniques, which will become obvious as you look at examples of her restoration work. In her training, she has studied under the finest glass and china painters of our time and has amassed an incredible body of technical knowledge. This translates into a beautiful and confident hand in all of her painted work. She is able to faithfully channel the painters of past eras and brings a wonderful sensitivity to her personal work which often focuses on the figure and the portrait.

Kathy and I have taught together now for nearly a decade. She brings a focused energy to the classroom. She is generous in sharing her knowledge and problem solving in her approach. Kathy is able to assess what each student needs to learn and can also formulate a plan to help them reach their potential. I truly believe we are offering one of the finest opportunities to learn the technical craft of glass painting available today. When you are ready to learn the true art of glass painting, I invite you to seek us out. J. Kenneth Leap
