This workshop offers a "hands on" introduction to the style and technique of medieval stained glass. Participants will be treated to an in-depth tour of the Glencairn Museum's extraordinary collection before adjourning to the classroom to learn the traditional art of glass painting using kiln-fired pigments. The curriculum is designed provide a background for students interested in attending: The Art of Glass Painting during the Sacred Art Summer Institute at Bryn Athyn College (see below). Artists who have not worked in glass before are encouraged to attend. This workshop will also be of interest to historians and those fascinated with the Middle Ages & the arts & crafts revival.
