NEW JERSEY — A 360º VIEW

This 10' x 15' skylight was commissioned in 1994 for the Annex of the New Jersey State House in Trenton. It is composed of over 1500 pieces of glass. The imagery presents scenes of the State as a 360º panorama of the landscape.
The layout, as conceived of by J. Kenneth Leap, was inspired by designs of 14th century maps as well as by photo safaris the artist took around the State. The skylight is made up of 48 separate panels and was fabricated at Wheaton Village. The project took approximately one year to complete and was installed in the State House Annex in February of 1995.
